DGA Statement on Chris Sununu’s Abandonment of Responsibility For Trump’s Potential Superspreader Rally
DGA Executive Director Noam Lee issued the following statement regarding New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu’s complete abandonment of responsibility for Trump’s potential superspreader rally tonight in New Hampshire:
“Chris Sununu was handed a second chance when Trump postponed his rally in July. He saw the outpouring of concern from Granite Staters fearful of the ramifications of a superspreader event. He saw the President hold multiple events where social distancing and mask-wearing were not observed. And now he’s failed this test of leadership for the second time.
“Tonight, before Trump held his rally, Sununu welcomed him into the state with open arms — and welcomed one of the most dangerous methods of transmission we know of. Chris Sununu had no plan for enforcing his own executive order, ignoring the concerns of his own constituents, and leaving their fate in the hands of a President who has no regard for any common sense public health measures. It’s a disgrace.”
