DGA Statement on Ben Salango’s Victory in West Virginia Primary

DGA Chair New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy today issued the following statement on Kanawha County Commissioner Ben Salango’s primary victory in West Virginia:
“Congratulations to Kanawha County Commissioner Ben Salango on his primary victory tonight. Raised in West Virginia, Ben has spent his career focused on creating jobs for his community and protecting the hardworking families of West Virginia. As commissioner, Ben created a small business loan program to help a community facing job losses, led the development of a multimillion-dollar sports complex, secured 12 weeks of paid family leave, and fought for funding for the county’s meal program to ensure no senior citizen would go hungry. Ben has a record of getting things done. As governor, Ben will take on the state’s crumbling infrastructure, invest in public education, protect health care, and address the state’s opioid epidemic. The DGA looks forward to fighting with Ben Salango to help move West Virginia forward.”
