Raised in West Virginia, Ben has spent his career focused on creating jobs for his community and protecting the hardworking families of West Virginia. As commissioner, Ben created a small business loan program to help a community facing job losses, led the development of a multimillion-dollar sports complex, secured 12 weeks of paid family leave, and fought for funding for the county’s meal program to ensure no senior citizen would go hungry. Ben has a record of getting things done. As governor, Ben will take on the state’s crumbling infrastructure, invest in public education, protect health care, and address the state’s opioid epidemic.
