DGA Statement on Ashley Kalus Winning the GOP Nomination for Rhode Island Governor
DGA Executive Director Noam Lee released the following statement on Ashley Kalus becoming the GOP nominee for Rhode Island governor:
“Ashley Kalus is an out-of-touch political opportunist who moved to Rhode Island just to run for governor. While Kalus is new to Rhode Island, she has plenty of experience promoting destructive policies in other states; she worked for failed former Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner, who notoriously tanked Illinois’ budget, public programs, state finances and supported cutting the minimum wage.
“Kalus’ work for Rauner previews the radical agenda she’d bring to Rhode Island if elected. With Rhode Island’s economy on the rise, there’s too much at stake to let Ashely Kalus derail that progress.”
