DGA Statement on Alabama Primary Results
Today, Democratic Governors Association Executive Director Elisabeth Pearson released the following statement regarding Alabama’s primary election results:
“Congratulations to Mayor Walt Maddox on his primary victory in Alabama,” said Pearson. “When Tuscaloosa was devastated by a tornado in 2011, Walt brought the city together as Mayor, and led the rebuilding effort to restore what was lost. As governor, he will use his executive experience to create good paying jobs, rebuild the state’s crumbling roads, and fight to expand access to health care. Governor Kay Ivey and Alabama Republicans are responsible for the rampant culture of corruption that has plagued the state for too long. Alabamans are fed up and ready to choose new leadership in November.”
