DGA Sets New Record for Q1 Fundraising
DGA Announces $13M Fundraising In Q1, Highest Ever for First Quarter
With Surge of Funding to State Races, DGA Fundraising Up 35% In 2017-18 Cycle
Today, the DGA announced it raised $13 million across all entities in the first quarter of 2018, a new record for the organization in a first quarter. The DGA has now raised $54 million across all entities since the beginning of the 2017-2018 cycle.
The $54 million represents a 35% increase over the DGA’s fundraising totals in the equivalent period of the 2013-2014 cycle.
The growth was propelled by increased donations from existing donors and an expansion of the DGA’s grassroots and individual donor programs, as Democrats nationally focus on gubernatorial races. The DGA’s individual donor program has grown by over 400% since 2014. The DGA received donations from nearly 16,000 first-time donors this quarter.
“With another record-setting fundraising quarter, the DGA is set up for success heading into the 2018 elections,” said DGA Executive Director Elisabeth Pearson. “Democrats around the country know electing more Democratic governors is the best way to push back against the chaos in Washington D.C. and fight Republican gerrymandering at the state level. Democrats are fired up and the DGA is ready to channel that enthusiasm into big wins in November.”
