DGA Releases New Video, “Testing”

Today, the Democratic Governors Association released a new video, “Testing.”
President Trump thinks that “anyone can get a test,” but governors know the truth – America is only doing a fraction of the testing it should. While the president has told the governors that testing should be local, the governors are not able to get the supplies that they need to ramp up testing in their states. Even the president’s own advisor, Dr. Fauci, has said the federal government needs to do a better job of partnering with the states on testing. If the president truly wants the country to open up safely, it’s time for him to do his job and help the governors ramp up testing.
“President Trump is living in a fantasy world while Democratic governors are on the ground fighting against the virus, making tough choices, and trying to protect Americans,” said DGA Communications Director David Turner. “Governors do not have enough testing supplies due to President Trump’s inaction. The president’s own public health experts have said that the testing in America is insufficient. The federal government needs to step up and support governors with needed testing supplies so that governors can continue to make informed decisions and protect public health.”
