DGA Releases New Video on Rauner Running Away from Trump Questions
Today, the Democratic Governors Association released a new video showcasing Governor Bruce Rauner’s refusal to take a stand on President Donald Trump. Rauner often acts as Trump’s silent supporter in Illinois, but when it comes time for him to stand up for Illinois voters, Rauner runs away from the tough questions. Just last week with Trump in the state, Rauner was caught scrambling to fill his schedule at the last minute and running away from reporters’ questions rather than face Trump.
“When Illinois needs a leader to stand up to Donald Trump, Bruce Rauner runs in the other direction,” said DGA Illinois Communications Director Sam Salustro. “It’s time for Rauner to stop running away from the tough questions and be honest with voters – will he continue being Trump’s silent supporter in Illinois?”
