DGA Raises Record $26M in First Half of 2018

DGA Now at $67M Raised for 2017-18 Cycle, a 24% Increase Over 4 Years Ago

DGA Growth Propelled by 400% Increase from Individual Donors; 35,000 New Donors in 2018 Alone

Today, the DGA announced it raised $26 million across all entities in the first half of 2018, a new record for the organization. The DGA has now raised $67 million across all entities since the beginning of the 2017-2018 cycle, also a record.
The $67 million represents a 24% increase over the DGA’s fundraising totals in the equivalent period of the 2013-2014 cycle.
The growth was propelled by increased donations from existing donors and an expansion of the DGA’s grassroots and individual donor programs, as Democrats nationally focus on gubernatorial races. The DGA’s individual donor program has grown by over 400% since 2014. The DGA received donations from over 35,000 first-time donors this year.
“With another record-setting fundraising mark, the DGA is poised to compete and win across the map in 2018,” said DGA Executive Director Elisabeth Pearson. “Democratic governors are leading the charge in pushing back on the damaging policies coming out of Trump’s Washington. Democrats are clearly fired up and the DGA is ready to transfer that energy into big wins in November.”
