DGA Launches New Video Slamming Mark Robinson for His Record of Extremism
Today, the Democratic Governors Association welcomed Mark Robinson to North Carolina’s general election with a new video highlighting his record of toxic extremism that he has built his campaign on, and will be forced to answer for as the election continues.
The video specifically highlights Robinson’s history of proposing a total ban on abortion “for any reason,” mocking school shooting victims, denouncing the Civil Rights Movement, downplaying the violent January 6th insurrection, and demonizing the LGBTQ+ community.
“Mark Robinson’s agenda of toxic extremism would hurt North Carolina’s working families, threaten the state’s economy, rip away rights from women and girls, and drag the state backward,” said DGA Communications Director Sam Newton. “Instead of Robinson’s chaos, division and extremism, North Carolinians deserve a leader like Attorney General Josh Stein, who will stand up for their fundamental freedoms and deliver big, bold wins on the issues they care about most.” See below for a full transcript of the video:
Robinson: “Abortion is a scourge that needs to be run out of this land.”
Robinson: “It’s not your body anymore, it’s y’alls body. And yes, that includes the daddy.”
Robinson: “So many things were lost during the Civil Rights Movement. So many freedoms were lost during the Civil Rights Movement. They shouldn’t have been lost.”
Robinson: “I’d love to pass a law that restricts abortion.”
Robinson: “We could pass a bill saying you can’t have an abortion in North Carolina for any reason.”
Robinson: “This little minor thing happens on January 6th and they’re like ‘oh riots are horrible….”
Robinson: “If there’s a movement in this country that is demonic and that is full of the spirit of antichrist, it’s the transgender movement.”
Robinson: “Homosexuality, or any of that filth. And yes, I called it filth.”
Robinson: “Abortion is a scourge that needs to be run out of this land.”
