DGA Congratulates Governor Hassan on her Reelection

WASHINGTON, DC – Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin, Chair of the Democratic Governors Association, tonight issued the following statement on the reelection of Governor Maggie Hassan:

“Tonight, Governor Maggie Hassan won reelection because she knows how to work with Republicans, Democrats and independents to solve long-standing problems.  Under Governor Hassan’s leadership, New Hampshire is expanding opportunities for middle class families, the unemployment rate is at the lowest level since 2008 and businesses are creating jobs.  Over the next two years, she will continue to invest in priorities like healthcare and education, encourage innovative and high-tech startups, strengthen New Hampshire’s workforce, and reduce energy costs.  We would like to congratulate Governor Hassan on a well-earned victory.”
