WASHINGTON, DC – Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin, Chair of the Democratic Governors Association, tonight issued the following statement on the reelection of Governor Jerry Brown:
“On behalf of Democratic governors across the country, I would like to congratulate Governor Jerry Brown on his re-election victory tonight. Governor Brown turned California’s fiscal crisis around by reducing the deficit and providing funding for major infrastructure projects and climate change research. Because of Governor Brown’s leadership, S&P upgraded California’s credit rating and made critical investments in education, innovation and clean energy. Over the next four years, Governor Brown will continue his lifelong work of strengthening the middle class and expanding economic opportunity to all.”
