DGA Chair Gov. Phil Murphy released the following statement to celebrate the expansion of Medicaid thanks to North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper’s strong bipartisan leadership.

“Thanks to Gov. Roy Cooper, the expansion of Medicaid in North Carolina is a major win for working families across the state that will save lives and create thousands of jobs by ensuring access to health care for over 600,000 North Carolinians. 

“Governor Cooper’s unwavering commitment to working across the aisle and finally getting this done is an important example of how electing strong Democratic leaders at the state-level leads to progress that directly benefits the lives of working families – and the DGA was proud to strongly back Gov. Cooper in both 2016 and 2020.”
