DGA Chair Inslee’s Statement on Steve Sisolak’s Primary Victory in Nevada

Today, Democratic Governors Association Chair Gov. Jay Inslee (D-WA) released the following statement on Steve Sisolak winning the Democratic nomination for governor in Nevada:
“Congratulations to Steve Sisolak on winning the Democratic nomination for governor in Nevada.
“Steve Sisolak is a leader who knows how to get things done to make people’s lives better. His relentless focus on bringing good-paying jobs to Nevada and strengthening Nevada’s public education system to give every child an opportunity for success will make him a great governor. And with access to healthcare under attack by Republicans in Washington and the Trump administration, Steve will be a bulwark against any attempts to undo the progress that has been made in Nevada.
“Whether it’s standing up for Nevadans wrongfully charged out-of-state tuition or pushing the state to diversify Nevada’s economy through emerging industries like clean technology, Steve doesn’t stop fighting until he’s found a solution.
“He learned how to build coalitions on Nevada’s State Board of Regents while raising his two daughters on his own as a single father.
“There’s a clear choice in this election. In Steve Sisolak, Nevada will have a governor who will fight for workers every day. In Adam Laxalt, Nevadans would get a governor who will only fight for his donors and special interests.
“Nevada is a top target for the DGA this cycle, and I believe Steve Sisolak is the right candidate to move Nevada forward.”
