DGA Chair Inslee Highlights Kavanaugh Impact on Oregon Gubernatorial Race on CNN

‘Our candidates are pushing their opponents on this Kavanaugh nomination’

Buehler on Defensive over Kavanaugh

On Tuesday, on CNN Tonight with Don Lemon, DGA Chair Gov. Jay Inslee (D-WA) discussed how Democratic gubernatorial candidates are standing up for women in the wake of multiple allegations of sexual assault against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
The sexual assault allegations have “spilled governor’s races across the country,” and Democrats are making clear who they stand with–survivors of sexual assault.
Inslee said, “Our candidates are pushing their opponents on this Kavanaugh nomination. Candidates in Oregon, Kate Brown, Gretchen Whitmer in Michigan, they’ve pressed their candidates to stand up and say they feel it’s more important to protect women then to protect Donald Trump. And every single time the Republicans have said ‘Nope, I’d rather protect Donald Trump,’ than the basic dignity of women, and this is causing great outrage, it’s being translated to votes.”
Last week, Republican gubernatorial candidate Knute Buehler wouldn’t even say whether he believed Kavanaugh’s accuser, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, and said that he found Kavanaugh’s testimony “very compelling.” Meanwhile,Gov. Kate Brown has been firmly on the side of sexual assault survivors.
