Today, as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced his campaign for president, the Democratic Governors Association Chair Governor Phil Murphy released the following statement:

“While Democratic governors across the country have been fighting to protect the rights and freedoms of their citizens, Ron DeSantis has spent his career pushing an extreme MAGA agenda on the people of Florida. From enacting extreme abortion bans, to signing legislation that could make it easier for criminals to carry guns to banning books in schools, Ron DeSantis has attacked the freedoms of Floridians while failing to deliver solutions on the state’s biggest issues. Democratic governors will do everything they can to stand up for freedom and actually deliver results on the biggest issues facing working families.”
