Today, Democratic Governors Association Chair Phil Murphy released the following statement on the two-year anniversary of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law:
“Two years ago, President Joe Biden signed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, a historic accomplishment and a once-in-a-generation investment in America’s infrastructure and competitiveness. Since then, Democratic governors have been proud to be on front lines of transforming this monumental legislation into real results such as the rebuilding of our roads and bridges, expanding access to high-speed internet, and delivering clean water. In New Jersey, we’ve seen remarkable progress on the Gateway Program to build new tunnels and improve our rail system, which will help create more economic opportunity for decades.
“In addition to being good policy, the DGA’s record of successfully re-electing more than a dozen of our governors in 2022 and 2023 — including in deep red and battleground states — shows that running on delivering these infrastructure improvements is also a big winner at the ballot box.
“Democratic governors look forward to continuing our strong partnership with the Biden-Harris Administration to rebuild America and grow the economy for the middle class, while also highlighting how these accomplishments are directly benefiting families in our states throughout the 2024 election cycle.”
