DGA Chair Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear released the following statement on Gov. Tina Kotek securing the Democratic nomination for governor in Oregon:
“Congratulations to Governor Tina Kotek on becoming the Democratic nominee for governor in Oregon. Governor Kotek has spent the past four years working to tackle Oregon’s biggest challenges – from reducing homelessness by building more shelter beds and investing in addiction and mental health services, to lowering prescription drug costs and working with both parties to support first responders. She’s taken on Donald Trump head-on – fighting back against his efforts to gut Medicaid and further restrict reproductive rights, and she successfully pushed back when he sent masked federal agents into Oregon neighborhoods.
“There’s more work ahead, and Gov. Kotek is the right leader to continue standing up to this Administration and delivering for Oregon.”
