DGA Chair Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear released the following statement on Gov. Kathy Hochul securing the Democratic nomination for governor in New York:
“Congratulations to Gov. Kathy Hochul on becoming the Democratic nominee for governor in New York. Under Gov. Hochul’s leadership, the Empire State is more affordable and safer. Guided by her commitment to families, Gov. Hochul tripled the state’s child tax credit, lowered taxes for middle-class New Yorkers to their lowest level in 70 years, and guaranteed universal free school meals. When Donald Trump attacked New Yorkers’ rights, jobs, and health care – Gov. Hochul fearlessly fought back. In Gov. Hochul, the people have a tough and proven leader who knows how to get results, and the DGA looks forward to ensuring she is reelected in November.”
