DGA Calls on Sununu to Condemn Trump Attacks on NH
Trump Calls NH a ‘Drug-Infested Den’
Shaheen, Hassan Condemn Attack; Sununu is Silent
Today, the Democratic Governors Association called on Governor Chris Sununu to stand up to Donald Trump and condemn the President’s attack on New Hampshire as a “drug-infested den.”
Both of New Hampshire’s U.S. senators have condemned Trump’s remarks this morning, calling them “disgusting” and “unacceptable.” Governor Sununu, meanwhile, has remained silent.
While other New England Republican governors have frequently stood up to Trump’s policies, Sununu has avoided taking on the President.
“Chris Sununu should condemn Donald Trump’s attacks on the people of New Hampshire,” said DGA spokesman Jared Leopold. “Does Governor Sununu agree with President Trump that New Hampshire is a ‘drug-infested den?’ Governor Sununu has spent his first 6 months as governor afraid to stand up to President Trump. So it’s no surprise that Silent Sununu is nowhere to be found today.”
