DGA Announces Kiki McLean to Continue to Serve as Treasurer

From the Chair’s Desk

The DGA announced today that, after serving as Treasurer for the 2021-22 election cycle, Catherine “Kiki” McLean will continue to serve in her role as Treasurer.

“Kiki was a core member of the fantastic leadership team that paved the way for our success this cycle and I am thrilled to announce she will continue to serve as Treasurer,” said DGA Chair Gov. Phil Murphy. “Kiki’s extensive strategic communications knowledge and decades of experience building successful Democratic organizations were critical to our historic wins. The DGA is grateful to continue to count on her invaluable experience in the upcoming election cycle.”

“I am honored and excited to continue to serve as DGA Treasurer,” said Kiki McLean. “The results of this historic cycle show Americans trust Democratic governors to get things done on the issues that matter most to them. With more than 57% of Americans soon under the leadership of a Democratic governor, the role of the DGA to demonstrate how our governors deliver for the people they represent is more important than ever. I look forward to continuing to work with our incumbent governors and welcoming a new class of Democratic governors in this role.”

McLean is a leading public affairs and political strategist. She is recognized for her decades of experience leading advocacy and communications strategies for business, political, and non-profit organizations. Prior to the DGA, she served as the managing director of Porter Novelli’s Washington DC office, leading its global public affairs practice and serving on the company’s executive committee. Her career includes roles with the highly regarded firm, the Dewey Square Group, and the history-making Democratic Leadership Council.

Kiki served as senior advisor to the Hillary Clinton for President Campaign in 2008, and was spokesperson and Communication Director for Vice President Al Gore, Senator Joe Lieberman, and the Democratic National Committee. Kiki McLean is a native of San Antonio, Texas, and received her Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in Communications from Austin College in Sherman, Texas.

The DGA Treasurer role is an unpaid, volunteer position.
