Detroit’s Corrupt Mayor Complains and Lies When Called Out for Corruption

Following a new digital ad from DGA Victory Fund calling out Mike Duggan for “outing” a “confidential FBI informant” during an “ongoing investigation of bribery, extortion and fraud,” Duggan is now trying to desperately paper over his corrupt record.

Duggan claimed to MIRS News in Michigan yesterday: “Not one person from the federal government suggested that I ever did anything wrong.”

The only problem? Duggan’s record of outing the confidential informant in an investigation that led to one of his top allies going to prison for bribery is incredibly clear – and Duggan even “confirmed” it himself at the time.

In addition to lying and changing his story, Duggan went on a temper tantrum, where he compared himself to Trump and Republicans, adding: “Democrats only united on two principles: They hate Republicans in general, and they hate Donald Trump in particular. But today, I’ve gotten them to broaden their platform; now they hate me, too.”

Just last month, Duggan threw a temper tantrum and pointed fingers at Democrats instead of releasing documents that should be disclosed to the public.

DGA Communications Director Sam Newton said: “Once again, after facing the tiniest bit of scrutiny, Mike Duggan resorted to another temper tantrum by immediately lying and comparing himself to Donald Trump. Well, he’s right about one thing: both Duggan and Trump are corrupt and wrong for Michigan.”
