Dems begin to 'fill in the blanks' on McCrory

On the day Pat McCrory officially announces his bid for governor of North Carolina, the Democratic Governors Association is releasing a memo to make their case why the Republican is a feeble front-runner.
The crux of the argument: You don’t have Bev Perdue to kick around anymore, which means it’s time to refocus the campaign on McCrory.
A late December DGA poll showed McCrory ahead of the incumbent 47 percent to 41 percent.
But as pollster Fred Yang writes in the memo released first to POLITICO, those numbers flipped once respondents were read “factual and fair statements.” In other words, “filling in the blanks” and driving a message on McCrory, who has so far benefited from little scrutiny because of Perdue’s consistent problems.
