Dem Govs Get it Done: Under Laura Kelly Economic Development “Has Never Been Stronger Than It Is Right Now”
Hutchinson/Reno Chamber of Commerce President Debra Teufel: “Economic development is a top priority in Kansas…under Gov. Laura Kelly’s direction.”
After years of mismanagement and underfunding by the Brownback administration with Derek Schmidt by his side, Gov. Laura Kelly is leading a “comprehensive, bold effort” to revitalize the Kansas economy.
In a new op-ed to the Topeka Capital-Journal, Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Debra Teufel praised Gov. Kelly’s commitment to transforming business recruitment and retention infrastructure, community development, and workforce training sectors in Kansas.
Teufel writes, “I can personally attest that economic development is a top priority in Kansas, evidenced by the positive turnaround of the Kansas Department of Commerce under Gov. Laura Kelly’s direction…we’re well positioned to show the world why Kansas is the best place in the nation to do business.”
“Kansas’ business recruitment and retention infrastructure has never been stronger than it is right now.”
Overall, there’s no doubt businesses across Kansas have felt the impact of Gov. Kelly’s commitment to rebuilding the Kansas economy. Over $6 billion new business dollars have been invested in the state in the last two years. The state also received the Gold Shovel Award in recognition of the state’s success in economic development.
