Dem Govs Get It Done: Gov. Roy Cooper Signs Bipartisan COVID-19 Relief Package Providing $1.6 Billion for Working Families
On Monday, North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper signed two COVID-19 relief bills into law. The bipartisan relief package provides nearly $1.6 billion to support North Carolinians during the pandemic.
These bills will provide funding for health care, COVID-19 research and testing, food banks, and rural broadband.
Gov. Cooper, who has an approval rating of 84%, has earned the trust of his constituents by following the lead of public health experts and showing steady leadership during the pandemic. He issued a stay-at-home order and established a bipartisan task force to work on coronavirus relief, all while reassuring residents, “We are going to get through this.” Now, as the state readies its reopening plan, Gov. Cooper is providing North Carolinians with much-needed resources and policy changes.
“As Gov. Cooper continues to lead his state through the next stages of the pandemic, his bipartisan relief package will provide North Carolinians with much-needed resources during this difficult time,” said DGA National Press Secretary Jerusalem Demsas. “Gov.
