Dave Reichert: “Marriage is Between a Man and a Woman”

Behind closed doors, Reichert takes aim at LGBTQ+ Washingtonians 

New reporting from The Seattle Times revealed that at a behind closed doors event in February, former Congressman Dave Reichert stated that marriage is “between a man and a woman.”

This revelation shouldn’t come as a surprise, as Reichert has spent his career in Congress working to strip LGBTQ+ Washingtonians of their rights, which is directly at odds with the majority of Washingtonians. Research from the Public Religion Research Institute shows that over 80 percent of Washingtonians support marriage equality, a number that has steadily risen year after year.

With his closed-door comments, Reichert continues to show Washington voters that he cannot be trusted — from refusing to say if he voted for Trump in the Washington presidential primary to declining to debate his Republican primary opponent.

“It should come as no surprise that once Dave Reichert is behind closed doors, he has no problem attacking Washingtonians’ rights,” said DGA Deputy Communications Director Izzi Levy. “With every day, Reichert finds a new way to show Washington voters that they cannot trust him to protect their rights or to be honest with them about his dangerous agenda.”
