Craven Kelly Ayotte Called out for Spreading Misinformation on Immigration
Over the weekend, former U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte took to Twitter to spread false information, claiming that a facility was kicking veterans out of housing to house “illegal immigrants.” The facility Ayotte is referencing is vacant and is being used to house homeless families in Massachusetts. Ayotte was quickly corrected by Massachusetts media who pointed out her lie, including NBC10 Boston and Politico’s Massachusetts Playbook.
Ayotte notably opposed the recent bipartisan border security and immigration deal that would have protected our border through increased funds for more border security agents, additional resources for law enforcement officials, and preventing fentanyl from being smuggled into the country.
“Craven Kelly’s latest political stunt isn’t surprising, but it is disappointing,” said DGA States Press Secretary Emma O’Brien. “We know Kelly Ayotte will do and say anything to get elected – including lying to the people of New Hampshire. When given the chance to support a bipartisan solution, Ayotte refused, proving she’s not interested in solving this crisis but only in using it for her political gain. She should delete her post and issue an apology for spreading false information.”
