Ciattarelli Embraces Trump’s “Grand Experiment” That Could Cut New Jerseyans’ Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security

In a new interview on “The Point with Marcia Kramer,” Republican candidate for governor Jack Ciattarelli claimed “the President is doing exactly what he said he’s going to do,” and called potential cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security part of “a grand experiment.”

Marcia Kramer: “There’s a lot of concern about cuts coming from Washington that are going to affect budgets in the metropolitan area, specifically the Garden State. How do you feel about that, and how will you head them off? We’re talking about Medicaid cuts, Medicare cuts, Social Security cuts. People are worried, especially Medicaid recipients, about the fact that their aid could be cut and it could really adversely affect them.”

Jack Ciattarelli: “The President is doing exactly what he said he was going to do. I do think it’s a grand experiment. Let’s see how it goes…”

Kramer: But see the thing is, you know you have a situation where you want to cut taxes, you want to make sure you’re gonna make up for federal aid, where does the money going to come from?”

Ciattarelli: “I’ve gotta grow the economy, Marcia…”

Ciattarelli has previously promised to bring the chaos of Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s sweeping cuts to New Jersey, saying “any and all departments and potential cuts are on the table” — even if that means firing workers responsible for making sure New Jerseyans have access to essential programs and services.

“Jack Ciattarelli has made clear that if he’s elected New Jersey’s next governor, he won’t stand up against Donald Trump or Elon Musk to protect key programs like Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare that New Jerseyans rely on,” said DGA Campaign Communications Advisor Emma O’Brien. “Ciattarelli’s latest effort to win over Donald Trump is a betrayal of hardworking New Jersey families, and the latest proof that the Garden State can’t afford any of these extremists in the governor’s office.”
