Christine Drazan’s Broke Campaign Desperately Leans on Extremist Ron DeSantis For Help

As Christine Drazan’s flailing campaign in Oregon runs out of money, with no help from the RGA and barely any cash on hand going into the final month of campaigning, Drazan called in MAGA extremist Ron DeSantis to help bail her out.

Drazan was proud to fundraise alongside DeSantis on Saturday, whose far-right record is deeply out of touch with Oregonians. It includes implementing one of the most extreme abortion bans in the country at six weeks, passing discriminatory anti-LGBTQ “Don’t Say Gay” bills, and signing extreme vote-by-mail restrictions into law.

Drazan’s own record mirrors DeSantis’s after she’s touted endorsements from radical anti-abortion groups and backed bills that could jail abortion providers, opposed legislation to support LGBTQ+ students, and led a push to overturn vote-by-mail in Oregon.

It’s no wonder the RGA refuses to invest in this race, and Drazan’s cash on hand is rapidly dwindling: Oregon voters don’t want a MAGA extremist who cozies up to Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis anywhere near the governor’s office.

“Christine Drazan proudly using extreme MAGA Ron DeSantis to bail out her flailing campaign is a flashing warning sign of just how out of step she is with Oregonians,” said Deputy Communications Director Johanna Warshaw. “Drazan and DeSantis’s attacks on reproductive freedom, LGBTQ+ rights, and vote by mail have no place in Oregon — and that’s why she will lose once again this November.”
