Cameron’s Disastrous Response to His Extreme Record on Exceptions Gets Worse
After being called out for trying to hide his extreme record of backing an abortion ban with no exceptions for rape and incest, Daniel Cameron is in full meltdown mode, now back to admitting he wouldn’t create exceptions unlessthe courts forced him to. Listen to Cameron’s extreme comments here.
The Lexington Herald-Leader reported Cameron said in part: “It wouldn’t be me, proactively.”
This isn’t surprising given Cameron’s record of repeatedly and publiclyopposing exceptions for rape and incest, even in the case of a 9-year-old rape survivor, including defending an extreme abortion ban with no exceptions for rape and incest in court multiple times.
“First, Cameron tried to run from his extremism. Now, he’s back to doubling down, proving what we’ve known all along: he would leave survivors of rape and incest – including young children – with no options,” said DGA States Press Secretary Emma O’Brien. “No matter how many different, panicked explanations Cameron tries to give, Kentuckians know he’s too extreme and can’t be trusted as their next governor.”
