Both Ways Bob Beauprez Shows True Colors With Divisive 47% Comments

As GOP Gov Nominee Launches “Unity Tour,” Video Emerges Of Him Calling Half of Americans Mooching Freeloaders

As Congressman Bob Beauprez launched a post-primary “unity tour” last week, Coloradans were getting a taste of who he really is: a typical Washington politician who claims he’d bring people together as governor, but who actually thinks nearly half of all Americans—including seniors and veterans—are mooching freeloaders. For his entire career, Both Ways Bob has said one thing and done another, which is why he was trounced in a historic 17-point landslide the last time he sought to lead the state. Now eight years after that brutal loss, Beauprez faces the same fate as he tries to explain remarks that are virtually identical to those that helped sink Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign.

Here’s the money quote from the angry, divisive Both Ways Bob video:

“47 percent of all Americans pay no federal income tax. I’m guessing that most of you in this room are not in that 47 percent — God bless you — but what that tells me is that we’ve got almost half the population perfectly happy that somebody else is paying the bill, and most of that half is you all.”
