Biggs’ Turning Point Rally Highlights Nasty, Expensive AZ GOP Primary Infighting

Tomorrow, Andy Biggs is set to campaign with Turning Point’s Charlie Kirk — the latest sign of punches being thrown inside the messy AZ GOP gubernatorial primary, where grassroots Arizona Republicans continue to knock Karrin Taylor Robson to the side. This rally follows her losing the Kirk endorsement to Biggs, Trump’s “death knell” dual endorsement, and the exodus of her MAGA campaign consultants from her flailing campaign.

DGA Communications Director Sam Newton said: “The MAGA base sees right through out-of-touch lobbyist Karrin Taylor Robson — they know she’s weak, can’t be trusted, and is only out for herself. This rally is the latest example that the Arizona GOP primary is an expensive, nasty fight to see who will put Donald Trump ahead of Arizona families.”

Catch up quick on how nasty MAGA infighting in the AZ GOP primary has doomed Taylor Robson’s campaign:

Karrin Taylor Robson’s campaign is a sinking ship.

  • This month, Karrin Taylor Robson lost support when Charlie Kirk and Turning Point threw their weight behind fellow MAGA firebrand Andy Biggs.

  • As Turning Point’s Chase The Vote Director said, “…no one in the grassroots liked her… it would be nearly impossible to hire thousands of ballot chasers to chase ballots for Karrin because no one was interested in doing the hard work to get her elected.”

  • Taylor Robson also lost her top Trump consultants. As echoed by one GOP strategist to Axios: “It takes special skill to botch a GOP primary with the Trump endorsement, but unfortunately that’s what this candidate has single-handedly assured.”

Trump and other conservatives have taken note of Taylor Robson’s flawed campaign.

  • Following this MAGA backlash, Donald Trump gave his dual endorsement to both Andy Biggs and Taylor Robson — to which one conservative radio host said “Trump [threw] Karrin Taylor Robson under the bus.”

  • Another conservative talk show host said, “If you’re a Karrin fan, you should encourage her to drop out … She has nothing. She’s not the Trump-endorsed candidate.”

This isn’t the first time Taylor Robson’s MAGA struggles have been on display.

  • At the Arizona GOP convention in January — an event Taylor Robson didn’t even bother to attend — her name was met with “a loud chorus of boos,” despite a mobile billboard that ran pro-Taylor Robson ads around the event, while Andy Biggs received “thunderous applause.”
