AZ Republicans Go Rogue — Lake and Taylor Robson Push Big Lie While State Party Dangles $50K Reward for Evidence of Primary Election Fraud
In the latest example that the Arizona GOP primary has run amok with election conspiracy theories, the Republican Party of Arizona is already crying foul in advance of the upcoming primary, offering a $50,000 reward for evidence of “vote buying.”
This comes as the two frontrunners in the GOP primary for governor — Kari Lake and Karrin Taylor Robson — have both embraced the Big Lie.
Lake has openly said she believes the election was stolen and that Trump won Arizona in 2020. Taylor Robson has said, “the wrong guy is in the White House,” the elections “weren’t fair,” and refused to say whether she would’ve certified Arizona’s 2020 results.
Axios reported that Lake and Taylor Robson have spent the primary “fighting to show why they were more conservative and why the other was unfit for office.” Lake and Taylor Robson’s extremism has already created deep divisions between Donald Trump, Mike Pence, Doug Ducey, and the RGA.
“The Arizona GOP’s reckless behavior shows that there are real consequences to the dangerous, anti-democratic rhetoric that the Republican candidates for governor are spreading,” said DGA Senior Communications Advisor Christina Amestoy. “We know that Kari Lake and Karrin Taylor Robson believe in the Big Lie — but do they support their state party incentivizing baseless allegations in an election that hasn’t even happened yet?”
