Ayotte’s Absence from Trump Campaign Rally Reminds Voters She Can’t Be Trusted In Final Hours Before Election Day
In last week’s debate Ayotte refused three times to explain how she went from disavowing Trump to her current “unwavering” support
Kelly Ayotte is serving a final reminder that she can’t be trusted to keep her word as Granite Staters get ready to head to the polls tomorrow. Yesterday, Kelly Ayotte skipped out on a Trump campaign rally with JD Vance, even after she previously welcomed Trump to campaign in New Hampshire and praised Vance as a “strong” VP candidate.
After Ayotte infamously withdrew her support for Donald Trump in 2016, citing her daughter and calling it a “matter of principle,” Ayotte has reversed herself to fully embrace Trump — now calling him the “right choice for the White House.”
Just last week, in the final gubernatorial debate, Ayotte declined three opportunities to give voters an explanation for her now- “unwavering” support for former President Donald Trump. While they might not have shared the rally stage yesterday, Ayotte shares the same extreme views of the Trump-Vance agenda, including supporting the overturning of Roe v. Wade — a longtime goal of Ayotte’s that she helped advance by shepherding Neil Gorsuch through his Supreme Court nomination process. Ayotte also pushed nationwide abortion restrictions, voted four times to defund Planned Parenthood — which she’s also pledged to do as governor — and voted to allow insurers, employers, and health care providers to deny women reproductive care including birth control and fertility treatments like IVF.
“Leave it to Kelly Ayotte to give voters one final reminder that she’ll always do whatever is politically convenient for her – not show them where she really stands or stand up for what’s right for the people of New Hampshire,” said DGA Deputy Communications Director Izzi Levy. “If Ayotte really thinks she can trick Granite Staters by hiding out while her preferred presidential campaign comes to town, she has even less regard for the people of New Hampshire than we realized — but the fact remains that she has shown voters at every turn that she’ll threaten freedoms and cave to extremists like Trump whenever she thinks it will serve her. Voters know they can’t trust Kelly Ayotte, which is why they will reject her once again at the ballot box tomorrow.”
