As Trump Causes Virginia Health Clinics to Close, Winsome Sears Refuses to Speak Out
As a result of Donald Trump throwing the country into chaos by halting nearly all federal grant and loan payments, a new report from VPM is detailing how “Half of Virginia’s community health centers have been cut off from federal grant money, forcing some to stop providing certain services and others to close branches.”
The closure of these community health centers, which “provide primary health, dental, behavioral health, and pharmaceutical and substance abuse services” and play a huge role in serving rural areas, is jacking up costs, limiting health care access and threatening jobs.
Despite the damage this is causing Virginia, Sears has yet to say anything since expressing support for Trump’s dangerous agenda.
“Winsome Sears needs to stop hiding and speak out against Trump’s harmful and chaotic policies that are already raising health care costs, ripping away health care access, and threatening Virginia jobs,” said DGA National Press Secretary Devon Cruz. “Virginians deserve a governor who will defend access to affordable health care, create and protect good-paying jobs, and stand up for Virginians, and Winsome Sears has proven that she will not be that kind of governor.”
