As Gas Prices Reach “Staggering” Highs, James, Biggs, Tiffany, Donalds Allow Costly War to Continue
As gas and diesel prices are set to hit record highs across the country this week, with the national average cost of gas reaching $4.37 per gallon, House Republicans and current gubernatorial candidates Andy Biggs (AZ), John James (MI), and Byron Donalds (FL) voted to allow Trump’s expensive war to continue by either voting against stopping it or refusing to show up to vote.
Tom Tiffany (WI) has also repeatedly voted to keep the war going, after bragging that 2026 would have the lowest gas prices since 2020.
“Americans will continue to pay astronomical prices at the gas pump this week with no help from Republicans running for governor who backed Trump and his reckless war once again. Whether it’s this deeply unpopular war, the chaotic tariffs or deep cuts to health care, this is just the latest way these Republicans running for governor have made life more expensive,” said DGA Communications Director Sam Newton. “They are all 100% responsible for these record-high gas and diesel prices and must explain why they are jacking up prices to the families and businesses in their states who are hurting.”
