Another Republican Governor Playing Defense as Democrats Expand the 2018 Map

Nebraska State Senator Announces Democratic Challenge to Governor and RGA Vice Chair Pete Ricketts

Republicans will be playing defense in one more state this year as Nebraska State Senator Bob Krist announced a challenge to Governor Pete Ricketts, whose fiscal mismanagement led to a $137 million shortfall and tens of millions of dollars in proposed cuts to education.
“Democratic candidates for governor have the wind at their back across the nation,” said DGA Executive Director Elisabeth Pearson. “We have great candidates running in blue, purple and red states alike. We expect a wide playing field including states like Nebraska, South Carolina, Kansas and Georgia.”
In 2014, the RGA spent half a million dollars to support Ricketts.
