Acton Gains Momentum with Ratings Change and New Poll as Ramaswamy Allies Resort to Desperate Lies
Vivek Ramaswamy’s allies are hitting the panic button and resorting to more desperate and debunked smears after a new poll conducted by Donald Trump’s pollster showed Dr. Amy Acton leading in Ohio’s governor’s race, and another independent race rater moved the race in her direction.
The new independent poll, sponsored by AARP, shows Acton ahead 47% to Ramaswamy’s 44% and winning a majority of independent voters.
Additionally, Inside Elections moved the race from “Likely Republican” to “Lean Republican,” writing, “If the election were held today, former state health director Amy Acton might be on her way to being Ohio’s first Democratic gubernatorial winner in two decades.”
This is not the first time that Ramaswamy and his allies have trotted out disgusting smears about Dr. Acton’s personal life, and an investigation from NBC4 earlier this year showed that these claims are nothing more than desperate political attacks. Ramaswamy also earned backlash for mocking Dr. Acton’s experience as a survivor of childhood sexual abuse.
“It’s only June and Vivek Ramaswamy’s allies are pulling out all the stops with their desperate and disgusting lies as Dr. Amy Acton continues to build momentum,” said DGA spokesperson Izzi Levy. “Ramaswamy has nothing to bring to the table except a failed presidential campaign, a record of profiting at the expense of hardworking Ohioans, and plans to make life in Ohio harder and more expensive. No matter what desperate attacks he and his friends turn to, Ohioans don’t trust him, and they know they can’t afford him as governor.”
