Chip in today to elect Dem govs >>
Democratic governors are leading in the fight against Donald Trump. With our two historic victories in Virginia and New Jersey, grassroots momentum is on our side! But next year, nearly 80% of the country is voting for a governor – and with Republicans already investing to beat Dem govs, early support has never been so critical. Will you donate to elect more Democratic governors who will defend our rights and freedoms and stand up to Trump?

60 Years After Enactment of Medicaid, Republicans Gut Health Care for Millions of Americans
On the 60th anniversary of Medicaid being signed into law, the DGA is highlighting how Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans’ budget bill that guts health care for 17 million Americans means health care will be a major issue and big problem for Republicans in the 38 governors’ races across the country over the next two years.
Not only will the deeply unpopular law strip away access to Medicaid, but it will force hospitals to close, throw seniors out of nursing homes, kill good-paying jobs, take away food from kids, and explode the national deficit.
The first opportunity for voters to reject this disastrous agenda is in Virginia and New Jersey this fall, as GOP candidates Winsome Sears and Jack Ciattarelli proudly support Trump’s agenda. Sears bragged about how Trump’s bill will do “so many great things” for Virginia — even though it’s set to take health care away from more than 320,000 Virginians. Meanwhile, Ciattarelli said “shame on any Republican across the country that doesn’t support this,” which could take health care away from more than 350,000 New Jerseyans.
DGA Executive Director Meghan Meehan-Draper said: “Republicans’ decision to strip health care from 17 million Americans and sell out hardworking families to Donald Trump and his billionaire friends will be a huge problem for GOP candidates for governor, especially in Virginia and New Jersey this fall. Voters will reject these deeply unpopular cuts in favor of candidates like Abigail Spanberger and Mikie Sherrill, who are focused on protecting and expanding health care and lowering costs.”
