DGA Chair on Trump/Pence ticket: ‘Doubling down on who can discriminate the most’

This weekend, Connecticut Gov. Dan Malloy took to MSNBC to share his thoughts on Donald Trump selecting Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his running mate in 2016.

“This is a candidate for vice president who is anti-women, anti-freedom of religion, has gone after the gay, lesbian and transgender community,” Malloy, the chair of the Democratic Governors Association, told MSNBC’s Alex Witt this Saturday. “This is a lot like doubling down on who can discriminate the most.”

Malloy has been highly critical of Pence’s record as governor, having eliminated state-funded travel to Indiana after Pence approved his RFRA law that allowed businesses to openly discriminate against the LGBT community.

“He was willing to discriminate against people based on their sexual orientation and based on their exercising the right to be married […] We cannot tolerate that,” Malloy continued.
