“Terminate It”: What Trump’s Obamacare Repeal Will Cost Indiana

Does Gov. Eric Holcomb Support the President’s Efforts to Rip Away Health Care from 497,000 Hoosiers?

Yesterday, President Trump doubled down on his administration’s ultimate goal to “terminate” the ACA even as the country faces its worst public health crisis in history. The deadly effects that a repeal of the Affordable Care Act would cause are unquestionable.

In Indiana alone:

  • 497,000 people would lose health care coverage, raising the state’s uninsured rate among its nonelderly population from 10.6 percent to 19.3 percent.
  • 2.7 million people with preexisting conditions could face higher premiums, face benefit exclusions, or be denied coverage altogether if they ever needed to turn to the individual market for coverage in another state.
  • $3 billion in federal funding for health coverage would be lost.

“President Trump wants to rip away millions of Americans’ health care, even as they need it now more than ever,” said DGA Communications Director David Turner. “As Indiana faces a deadly pandemic, the question is simple: Does Eric Holcomb support Trump’s dream of ripping away Hoosiers’ access to critical, life-saving health care?”
