DGA Statement on McCrory Announcement

Washington, DC – Democratic Governors Association Executive Director Colm O’Comartun released this statement on Pat McCrory’s announcement for North Carolina governor:

“Pat McCrory was already rejected once by voters because of his extreme partisan agenda. Since his failed 2008 bid for governor, McCrory has spent his time lobbying for special breaks for the powerful and well-connected, while tying himself even closer to the radical right-wingers in the Republican legislature who gutted North Carolina’s education system and slashed funding for North Carolina schools and colleges.

“Whoever North Carolina Democrats choose as their nominee, the DGA will be invested to make sure that North Carolina elects a job-creating Democratic governor who will prioritize education and preserve opportunity for all North Carolinians.”
