Nicole Galloway Tops Week of Momentum with Endorsement From Sen. Elizabeth Warren
Democratic gubernatorial candidate State Auditor Nicole Galloway is picking up steam in her bid to unseat Missouri Gov. Mike Parson. While Parson continues to receive negative reviews for his handling of the pandemic, Galloway capped off a stellar week of campaigning with a high-profile, national endorsement from Sen. Elizabeth Warren.
Sen. Warren endorsed Galloway for governor this morning, saying, Galloway “has spent her career taking on corrupt politicians and special interests—and winning. I am confident that as Governor of Missouri she’ll do the same. I’m proud to join her in this fight.”
Warren joins other high profile national Democrats like Sen. Kamala Harris, Stacey Abrams, and Mayor Pete Buttigieg in drawing attention to this key race.
Here’s what else happened in Galloway’s momentum-filled week:
- U.S. News & World Report downgraded the GOP advantage in the Missouri gubernatorial race and ranked it as more competitive;
- Galloway closed out Q2 with over $1 million raised;
- Galloway received praise for being a strong candidate and fundraiser, as well as a “natural campaigner”
- Galloway launched her #MaskUpMO campaign to encourage Missourians to wear a mask and slow the spread of COVID-19 (all while Parson continued to downplay the lifesaving impact of face-coverings); and
- Galloway announced key senior staff hires as her campaign continues to ramp up.
“The more Missourians learn about Nicole Galloway’s plan for a new way in Missouri, the more competitive the governor’s race gets,” said DGA Deputy Communications Director Christina Amestoy. “Missourians are tired of Mike Parson passing the buck on the COVID-19 pandemic and playing partisan games with their health care. Missourians are lining up behind Galloway because she has a track record of fighting for hardworking Missouri families and plans to put public health above partisanship.”
