New Hampshire Democrats Launch First Ad Buy Exposing Chris Sununu’s Loyalty to Donald Trump Above All Else

Latest News

GOP New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, a “Trump guy through and through,” is allowing the Trump campaign to move forward with planning a potential superspreader rally in Manchester this weekend. Ahead of the rally, the New Hampshire Democratic Party launched a new five-figure ad buy exposing Sununu’s willingness to sacrifice the health and safety of Granite Staters for Trump’s campaign.

The ad, titled “Loyal,” will highlight Sununu and Trump’s joint effort to leave New Hampshire families behind. Both have stood against minimum wage increases, funneled money to special interest donors in the middle of a pandemic, and pushed Betsy DeVos’ agenda, putting working families at risk.

Just last month, Sununu sidelined public health officials and let the Trump campaign set their own health and safety rules for a planned Portsmouth rally.

Trump’s campaign is specifically picking states for his rallies where they know governors won’t stand firm on protecting their citizens. Clearly Trump doesn’t believe that Sununu will protect Granite Staters if it means risking his base.

A group of former public health officials recently pleaded with Sununu to put public health above partisanship and place safety restrictions on any upcoming Trump rallies, but Sununu has made no mention of enforcing mask or social distancing requirements at the Manchester rally this weekend.

“Self-described ‘Trump Guy’ Chris Sununu has put his loyalty to Donald Trump above the safety and well-being of Granite Staters,” said DGA National Press Secretary Jerusalem Demsas. “There is still a public health crisis raging across this country – Sununu needs to take his cues from public health officials instead of Donald Trump.”
