ICYMI: Under Governor Gina Raimondo, Rhode Island Economy Climbs from 36 to 9 in Business Insider Rankings

Today, Business Insider released its rankings of the states’ economies, and under Governor Gina Raimondo’s leadership, Rhode Island came in at number 9. When Raimondo ran for office in 2014, Rhode Island was ranked 36th.
Here’s what Business Insider had to say about Rhode Island’s economy under Governor Raimondo:

Rhode Island had the third-highest rate of wage growth in the country, with average hourly earnings increasing 8.3% between December 2016 and December 2017.
The state’s Q3 2017 GDP growth rate of 3.5% was well above the average rate of 2.9% among the 50 states and DC. 
“Under Governor Gina Raimondo’s leadership, Rhode Island’s economy has improved dramatically,” said DGA Communications Director Jared Leopold. “Her emphasis on job-creation and job-training have done big things for the state over the past four years, and Governor Raimondo’s laser-like focus on jobs will continue to grow the state’s economy over the next four years.”
