DGA Statement Regarding Mary Burke's Campaign For Wisconsin Governor

WASHINGTON, DC—Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin, Chair of the Democratic Governors Association, today issued the following statement regarding Mary Burke’s candidacy for governor of Wisconsin:

“Governor Walker has failed to deliver on his central promise of 250,000 new jobs because he’s been distracted by a divisive ideological agenda. Instead of working to come through on his word, he attacked the rights of workers and women, and rewarded the wealthiest and well-connected at the expense of the middle class and investments in education.

“That’s why Wisconsin needs Mary Burke. She’s spent her entire career creating jobs and balancing budgets. As governor, she’ll be a champion for small businesses and world-class schools. We look forward to her victory next November.”
