Rauner and Ives Still Have Not Spoken Since 48% of Republicans Voted to Give Rauner the Boot

It’s been 8 days since state Representative Jeanne Ives almost defeated Governor Bruce Rauner in the Republican primary, and the two still have not spoken. Rauner desperately needs Ives’ support and is so desperate to get his ally back, he probably made her a playlist.
Rauner’s playlist would obviously start with classics like War’s “Why Can’t We Be Friends” and Cher’s “If I Could Turn Back Time.” He probably snuck in Lady Gaga’s “Judas” and Rauner obviously would end it with the perfect showstopper – Mariah Carey’s “We Belong Together.”

“If Bruce Rauner could turn back time, if he could erase three years of lies, failures, and crisis, perhaps he could work his way back to Jeanne Ives and 48% of his own party,” said DGA Illinois Communications Director Sam Salustro. “Instead, Rauner is entering the general election battlefield with no allies and no friends, all by himself.”
