Day 14: Two Weeks Later, Have Rauner and Ives Spoken? “They Have Not”

Late yesterday, Capitol Fax confirmed state Representative Jeanne Ives and Governor Bruce Rauner still have not spoken since the primary. “They have not,” said an Ives campaign spokesperson.

Rauner used his election night speech to tell the 48% of Republicans that voted against him – “I have heard you.”

Two weeks later, he clearly has not.

“Bruce Rauner was the nation’s most vulnerable incumbent before 48% of Illinois Republicans voted for someone else,” said DGA Illinois Communications Director Sam Salustro. “Now, Rauner’s spent two weeks ignoring Ives and her supporters, and has done nothing to repair the rifts in his party as he enters the general election.”
