DGA Announces New Illinois Communications Director

Today, the Democratic Governors Association announced the hiring of Sam Salustro to serve as the DGA’s Illinois Communications Director. Salustro recently served as Research Director for Gov. Martin O’Malley’s presidential campaign, and previously worked on numerous gubernatorial campaigns. He grew up in DuPage County and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

“Bruce Rauner is the most vulnerable incumbent governor in the nation,” said DGA Communications Director Jared Leopold. “This move marks an early and aggressive investment by the Democratic Governors Association to hold Governor Rauner accountable for the impact of his failed leadership on Illinois families. The DGA is committed to defeating Bruce Rauner and electing a Democratic governor of Illinois.”
