DGA Announces Record $39M Raised in 2016

2016 fundraising tops DGA marks in previous presidential cycles

Today, the Democratic Governors Association announced a new presidential-year fundraising record, reporting $39 million raised across all entities in 2016.

The 2016 results mark an increase over the $35 million raised in the presidential cycle of 2012, and the $23 million raised in 2008.

“In a tough election year for Democrats, the DGA’s record-breaking 2016 fundraising helped win the nation’s marquee gubernatorial race in North Carolina, while protecting all Democratic incumbents,” said DGA Executive Director Elisabeth Pearson. “The DGA is well-positioned to build on these victories in 2017 and 2018. With Republicans defending 27 of 38 governorships up for election in the next two years, we look forward to investing at the state level to elect more Democratic governors across the country.”
