Doug Mastriano Appeared to Take Video of Rioters “Facing Off” With Police At the Steps of the Capitol on Jan. 6. Pennsylvanians Deserve to See It.

It’s been 533 days since Doug Mastriano attended the Jan. 6 insurrection, crossing police barricades with rioters and paying thousands of dollars to bus Pennsylvanians to the Capitol. Last week, new reporting by NBC News showed Mastriano apparently recording rioters as they “face[d] off with police at the Capitol steps.” The Jan. 6th Committee has unearthed gripping new footage of the insurrection, and Mastriano’s video could provide additional information.

Pennsylvanians deserve to see the footage Mastriano took as insurrectionists attacked the Capitol and injured police officers — will he release that video to the public?

“Every day, more is uncovered about Doug Mastriano’s involvement in the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection — including new footage that showed Mastriano recording rioters as they attacked law enforcement,” said DGA Deputy Communications Director Sam Newton. “Mastriano’s footage could be important evidence in the investigation into January 6th, and it’s further evidence proving that Mastriano lied about his involvement and stood with rioters as they attacked the Capitol. It’s long overdue for Mastriano to release the footage and finally come clean about his full involvement in the attack on our democracy.”
